Mary traveled to Honduras to teach basket weaving to the ladies in the HOW Program. We were unable to find grasses to use, so Mary improvised and taught them to use palm fronds instead since they are plentiful in Honduras. The ladies listened and worked intently as she watched and offered assistance. One lady remembered watching her grandmother make baskets many years ago. It has been exciting to watch the ladies throughout the learning process. Many of them are accomplished basket weavers now and are making amazing baskets. We have a few listed here for sale.
