. . . . A Dream . . . .
The Help Others Work (HOW) project began as a missionary's dream
..............then grew to reality after sharing, planning, lots of praying, and much excitement. Now, here we are with many items made by Hondurans, young and old, male and female. We taught them to sew and knit initially. We took sewing machines and 80 pounds of fabric, yarn, needles, thread, lace, scissors, thimbles, Knifty Knitters, everything we needed to teach underprivileged residents of a small town in Honduras. They learned so quickly because they were eager to better themselves because there is little or no work in this area, especially for women. The children can attend elementary school free BUT must have uniforms, which cost money they just do not have. High school, while free, also requires uniforms and is not close enough to walk so the children must have money to pay to ride buses......again, money they just do not have.
The greatest aspect of this program is that we provide free training and all of the materials necessary to learn the skills that we teach. We leave the equipment with the missionaries so the Hondurans can continue to work. The second greatest aspect is that the MAKER OF THE ITEM RECEIVES EVERY PENNY OF THE PURCHASE PRICE. We keep no money for operational expenses.
All of the materials that we have taken thus far have been donated by church members. We are a public charity under 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code and certified by the Secretary of State, Georgia, as a Domestic Non-Profit Corporation. Any contributions of money or materials are tax deductible and receipts will be sent for tax purposes.

Do you wish to help Help Others Work?
Would you like to help with this project, but just do not have the time to travel to Honduras? Well, you could donate any amount of money to our project. The money that is donated right now will be used to pay some of the Hondurans whose items have not yet sold. My dream is to give them money for their items as soon as I get them, but since this is a relatively new project, we just have not had the cash available to do that. As it stands now, they only get money when the item actually sells.
